State and Centre Government appraised for normal pay to NCHAC employees

Haflong, July 8: A press meet was today held at the Chief Executive Member’s Office Conference hall briefing about the current state of action undertaken by the Executive Committee of North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council (NCHAC) regarding the issue of non-payment of salaries to the District Council employees in normal sector.

Kulendra Daulaguphu, Executive Member (EM) i/c Education, etc today informed the

media people that in an attempt to solve the ongoing crises in the district a team constituting of MP Biren Sing Engti and N Langthasa, EM, NCHAC, i/c Medical, Health and Family Welfare etc is in New Delhi to discuss and resolve the matter with the Central Government.

Samual Changsan, EM, NCHAC i/c Information & Public Relations etc added that the

Executive Committee had yesterday appraised the State Government seeking for their assistance on demands placed before them by the people of the district.

At the meeting both the Executive Members discussed regarding the sequence of

steps being undertaken by the Council for enhancement of revenue generation and thus resolve the crisis and constrains faced in the district. Daulaguphu told press that Revenue Enhancement Committee has been formed to ensure that steps are taken and executed for generation of revenue.

Seeking co-operation from the people Changsan said, "Our Government has all along

been working for the development of the people in the district and we are constantly pressing the State as well as the Centre Government for their assistance and I am sure we will soon overcome the long standing crisis of the past. Moreover there has been improvement and increase in revenue generation so we will meet out short fall very soon."

NCHAC Executive Committee appeal Employees Union to reconsider decision of indefinite strike

Haflong, July 15: Chief Executive Member (CEM) incharge, NCHAC Samual Changsan has appealed to all the employees of the Normal Sector under the Council to reconsider their decision regarding non function of all offices till their demands are met.

CEM incharge, Changsan further added that the CEM Debojeet Thaosen along with Executive Committee is in discussion with Dispur and has sought special financial aid from the Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi and is expecting to resolve the matter shortly.

"We are giving all our efforts to seek intervention from the State Government as well as the Centre and Chief Minister has assured to resolve the deadlock very soon. We appeal to the Council Employees Union to co-operate with us in this crisis and let the official works function normally. "

Dispur extends support to NCHAC

Haflong, July 18: A high level meeting chaired by Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi was today held at his office chamber in Dispur regarding the interim crisis at Dima Hasao employees of normal sector under North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council.

Samuel Changsan , i/c Chief Executive Member, NCHAC in his message from Haflong has thanked the Chief Minister for his initiatives to bail out Council of its current revenue crisis. He further conveyed that the high level meeting headed by Chief Minister in presence Assam Minister for Hill Areas Development Khor Sing Engti, Chief Executive Members of the two Autonomous Council Debojeet Thaosen and Tuliram Ronghang and MLA Bokajan Klengdoon Engti, had a detail discussion on the matter and resolved to meet short term salary arrears to the employees at Dima Hasao.

Changsan conveyed that discussion was also made on issues related to SIU, border outpost, complete transfer of departments like excise, transport, sales tax, printing and stationery as per MoU of 1996.

Other high level officials present in the meeting were Addl. Chief Secretaries H.S. Das, Bhaskar Mushahary and S. Ch. Das, Principal Secretary M G V K Bhanu, Commissioner and Secretary G.D.Tripathy, Commissioner and Secretary of HAD and Commissioner and Secretary of Border Areas and Principal Secretaries of NCHAC.

Anti dengue month 2014 observed

Haflong, July 18: Anti dengue month, 2014 was today observed at the office chamber of Joint Director, Medical Health Services, Haflong. A inter departmental meeting was held to sensitize about the preventive measures for dengue. Deputy Secretary, Henkam Haolai chaired the meeting in presence of senior doctors and government official.

In his speech, Haolai encouraged the officers and representatives of different government departments including Haflong town committee to spread the message of prevention in their localities and also at their office.

Haolai suggested the medical authority of Dima Hasao to hold awareness campaigns in the weekly markets of Dima Hasao in collaboration with N.G.Os and suggested the government departments to adopt awareness programmes relating to dengue.

The meeting was also attended by different workers of Health services like ASHA from corners of Dima Hasao.

NCHills Autonomous Council Employees Union agree

to withdraw protest

Haflong, July 26: The protesting employees union of the normal sector of NCHAC have agreed to withdraw the agitation and fully ensured the normal functioning of office works from Monday next, i.e July 28, 2014.

This was agreed after Samuel Changsan CEM incharge for NCHAC and members of the NCHAC Executive Committee on suggestion of CEM, NCHAC Debojeet Thaosen had a meeting with the leaders of the union where it was collectively agreed and the employees union accepted the grant –in- aid offered by Govt of Assam and further issues related to salary to be taken up in the near future.

Also the meeting fully acknowledged and offered gratitude to Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi and Chief Executive Member Debojeet Thaosen for resolving the issue that was prevailing in Council since some days. Adding to this CEM i/c has also appreciated the initiatives of the leaders of the employees union and the employees for collectively coming forward to a positive solution.

Meanwhile, the related issues for permanent solution pertaining in Council are also under discussion with targeted focus of increase in revenue generation, so as to enable the normal sector of the NCHAC to have a sustainable functioning on its own resources.
